Angels Everywhere

Today was an emotional day. First of all I got up early thought about doing laundry, cleaning my son's bedroom, and cleaning out the refrigerator. No big deal. Took my dog out to potty and came back in made me 2 hotdogs and fried some french fries. It was very tasty. No big deal. I talked on the phone with my friend for over an hour about everything. I began cleaning out the refrigerator and started my "Desperate Housewives" dvd season 2. I was happy having a good time. No big deal. I made myself a wonderful lunch of soup and grill cheese. No big deal. Well that's kind how my morning went. Before I knew it, it was time for my son to get home from school. He was 5 mins late. No big deal. He was 15 mins late. No big deal. He was 30 mins late. Now it's a BIG deal. I called the school, the buses left on time. I walked down the street and checked with another kid who rides the same bus, who said he wasn't on it. Then panic sets in. The police was next on the list to call. I then saw a tiny figure in a distance walking towards me. IT WAS MY SON! You talk about frightened to death. Come to find out, my 8yr old walked home from school because he missed his bus. He walked 2miles down a busy hwy 70. Just thinking about the "what ifs" makes me want to cry. He was tired, skin flushed, and very sweaty. Not to mention he was carrying a backpack full of books(19lbs). You ain't gonna tell me that boy didn't have angels around him.

3 days off, too good to be true!

Finally, I will be off for more than 2 days in a row. I am so excited. Our oldest daughter will be babysitting the little ones. But they ain't no babies no more! My honey and I will heading to Memphis for TSU's Southern Heritage Classic football game. I hope this weekend proves to be a big winner just like last weekend. ALL of my favorite football teams won (TITANS, TSU, MTSU, VANDERBILT, FLORIDA) and my not so faves, lost. Hoorah!! Even my favorite tennis chick won!! Serena Williams. Yeah!!!! It was like a perfect storm. Ok I got sidetracked, back to my weekend. I can't wait to get to the hotel, The Embassy(my fave) no doubt it will be a great way to relax. Hopefully hurricane Ike or whatever the name may be will hold off rain till we get back home. We may even get a little Tunica fever while we are down there. I just want to know if you can take change to the casino. I don't have any dollar bills (lol). Does anybody know? This is a much needed getaway for just the two of us. Well, I am at work and must get back to my clients. I will keep you posted on how my weekend of food, fun(all inclusive) ;), and football went!

Been gone too long! part 2

Well, here I go again. Alot has happened since the last blog. As you remember my oldest went to college with his room in a wreck. Well, in between working 4-5 (12hr days) per week. I am saddened to say IT IS NOW A SEMI WRECK! But never fear I have ordered a new mattress and bed covers to help it out. And get this he didn't even tell me the freaking mattress had coils coming out of it. Enough to scratch concrete. And it was eaten up like I let a dog get a hold of it or something. But I pledge by MONDAY his room will have a new attitude and look. I may even post pics. He is off at college with a car no doubt and spending money and buying gas as if he's got a money tree and an Exxon gas tank outside his dorm window. He is a junior in college now but thinks like a junior in high school. No money budgeting senses at all. He wants to go to school of hard knocks and not listening to someone who's been there.
And as for the other two still at home, they think the sun and moon rises around them. Since school started they have brought home every letter of the alphabet with an emphasis on the C's, D's, and F's. I think they have had it too easy. I don't know if my working extra has had an impact on this or what. But this will be changing today. I will figure out a system to help them get back on track. I guess too many trips to DisneyWorld. They have been told the first set of kids (20 and 24yr old) did not bring grades home like this and this won't be tolerated either. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears or eyes.

Been gone too long!

Well I just did a long blog and lost it.
